Forklift Truck Novice Training
Our novice forklift truck training course provides complete operator training for individuals who have never operated a forklift before, or who have very limited experience and require formal certification from the ground up. Delivered on-site at your premises using your own machine, the course takes operators from zero experience through to recognised certification — with no travel to a training centre and no time lost on unfamiliar equipment.
The course covers everything a new operator needs to know and demonstrate: machine controls and pre-use inspection, safe load handling and stacking, stability principles, operating in racking systems and loading bays, refuelling and battery charging, and working safely around pedestrians and other vehicles.
Both theory and practical elements are taught and assessed throughout. Our instructors work at the operator's pace, building understanding before progressing. By the end of the course, operators are not just certified — they are genuinely competent and confident on the machine.
Novice training typically takes three days depending on operator numbers and rate of progress. On successful completion each operator receives recognised forklift certification aligned with CPCS and NPORS standards and current HSE operator competence guidance.
