Manual Handling Training
Our manual handling training course gives employees the knowledge and techniques to carry out manual handling tasks safely, reducing injury risk and ensuring compliance with the Manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992. Manual handling injuries account for over a third of all workplace injuries reported in the UK each year — the vast majority of which are preventable with proper training.
The course covers the anatomy of the spine and how manual handling injuries occur, risk assessment principles, safe lifting techniques for a range of loads and situations, team lifting and the use of mechanical handling aids, and how to recognise when a task needs further assessment or a change in approach.
Delivered on-site in a half-day format, the training is practical and workplace-focused, ensuring the techniques taught are directly applicable to the tasks your employees carry out every day. The course is suitable for all employees involved in manual handling regardless of experience level.
On successful completion, each participant receives a manual handling training certificate providing evidence of training for health and safety records and workplace inspections.
